If anyone wants to live a good life and succeed in it, they must believe in themselves. We have to believe in ourselves and our abilities because what we think/feel on the inside will create what we produce on the outside. People easily lose faith in themselves when encountering setbacks, failure, and fear. When you lack confidence in yourself, others will pick up on that, won’t treat you fairly and can even take you less seriously. This world is extremely challenging and competitive, and when failure strikes people tend to doubt themselves and their skills.
After a failed relationship, one can lose self-confidence. Earlier this year, the most important and constant person in my life for two years chose that it was best if we went our separate ways. I was so devastated because I lost not only my boyfriend but my best friend, the person I trusted my life with. My bubbly and outgoing personality is usually a good mask for what I’m truly feeling and going through; but there are times, more often than not when I look back on that relationship and contemplate why I wasn’t good enough, what I could’ve done differently and why it didn’t work out. I knew that I hit rock bottom, but if any of you are going through the same thing, I promise that it is not the end of the road. I have learned every relationship we have “fails” until we find the one that doesn’t. Even with those relationships that ended, you might find in retrospect that they were successful because of what you learned about yourself, what you can change in a future relationship, or some other lesson you gained. Your primary relationship is, and always will be, with yourself. Take the time to know yourself, learn how to be good to yourself and you’ll see your self-confidence boost. Listed below are some ways to believe in yourself again:

Believing in yourself may be easier if you feel confident in the way that you look. You can make sure that you are looking and feeling your best by keeping a good daily hygiene and grooming routine.
✰ Shower and brush your teeth twice a day
✰ Style your hair
✰ Shave or keep your beard well-groomed
✰ Use deodorant, scented lotions, and perfumes to maintain a pleasant body odor
✰ Wear clothes that fit well and make you feel better about yourself
Writing a list of your accomplishments will help you begin to believe in yourself. Sit down and make a list of all of the things that you feel you have excelled at during some point in your life. After compiling a short list, try to see if there are any patterns. This will help you understand your skills and show that you are worthy of succeeding in life.

Work on thinking positively about yourself and your behavior. Fight the urge to be negative by replacing negative thoughts with positive ones.
