Everyone wants to find happiness whether it be through possessions or experiences. Though with finding happiness through possessions, the excitement wears off quickly and you are left with wanting more. Examples of this can be getting a new phone or laptop. On the contrary, science has proven that experiences are what make a long-lasting impact and bring humans the most joy. For instance, traveling brings happiness from the moment you purchase a ticket to the way you feel after your trip has ended. Whether you’re traveling on a business trip, a two-week family vacation, or have decided to pack-up everything to pursue a life on the road, traveling can make you a happier person. To put it in simple terms: traveling leads to living a good life.

There are so many ways that travel can contribute to building self-confidence. The obvious is having to step out of your normal daily routines and comfort zone. By visiting new places and seeing unfamiliar faces you may learn the most about yourself. Traveling also expands your horizons. You will come across new smells, sounds and sights, which in turn gives you more to think and talk about. Traveling will open your mind and make you intrigued with life and all it has to offer. Experiencing those things will give you an interesting life with a lot of stories to share. This process will raise oneβs confidence and knowledge of some unknown places.

Traveling will change peopleβs perceptions and the memories you make will forever be with you. You may swim with stingrays, tour new cities, and conquer driving on the other side of the road. For instance, when a family member brings up visiting Paris, you will go through memory lane in your brain to your vacation there. You will remember the beautiful views downtown and the scents from the food market. You will remember how the place or attraction made you feel, something new you tried or did for the first time. There will be so many things you learn and take back home with you.

When you travel to any place, you will stumble across people who are different from you. The great thing about traveling is that there are no boundaries; people open up and live a little more. There is no doubt in my mind that you would have trouble making friends on a trip. There are other fellow travelers who will provide you with some awesome tips and tricks that are not in any guidebook. Find those who have stories they are willing to share; they will often leave you inspired. The people you meet on these trips could have lasting impacts on your life and can become life-long friends too.
